About Rotorua Ziplines
Rotorua Ziplines operates a spectacular zipline course through the Okere Falls Scenic Reserve, sending guests soaring over thundering waterfalls and through towering native trees just 20 minutes from central Rotorua. The course is built within one of the region's most dramatic natural settings, where the Kaituna River carves through a gorge of ancient native bush and cascading waterfalls.
The experience spans approximately 2.5 hours and includes four ziplines reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h, with riders flying directly over three waterfalls including views of the famous seven-metre Tutea Falls — the world's highest commercially rafted waterfall. Between ziplines, guides lead the group along bush walks through the scenic reserve, sharing stories about the native flora, fauna, and the cultural significance of the Okere Falls area to local Maori.
What makes Rotorua Ziplines unique is the waterfall element — unlike forest-only zipline courses, here you're flying directly over cascading water with the roar of the falls below and mist rising around you. The combination of native bush, river gorge scenery, and cultural storytelling creates an experience that's as much about connecting with the landscape as it is about the adrenaline. Combo packages with nearby rafting operators are available for a full-day river adventure.
