About Taupo Tandem Skydiving
Taupo Tandem Skydiving is New Zealand's original tandem skydive dropzone and consistently holds the number one rating on Tripadvisor for skydiving experiences in the country. Operating for over 25 years from their distinctive yellow hangar at Taupō Airport, they have introduced hundreds of thousands of thrill-seekers to the rush of free fall above one of the world's most scenic landscapes.
Jumpers can choose from four altitude options — 9,000, 12,000, 15,000, or 16,500 feet — with up to 70 seconds of free fall at the highest level. Every tandem jump delivers panoramic views of Lake Taupō, the volcanic peaks of Tongariro National Park, and the surrounding Waikato countryside. Professional videographers capture the experience with hand-cam and external footage packages available.
The operation's longevity and safety record are unmatched in the region. All tandem masters hold thousands of jumps each, the fleet of Cessna and turbine aircraft is purpose-built for skydiving, and the lakeside landing zone provides one of the most photogenic touchdowns in the sport.
