About Skischule Horn 2000
Skischule Horn 2000 is a professional ski school based on the sunny slopes of the Kitzbüheler Horn, one of the two main mountains in the KitzSki area. With their office and meeting point at the Alpenhaus directly at the top of the Hornbahn gondola, they specialise in providing ski and snowboard instruction on the Horn's wide, sun-drenched intermediate runs — a deliberate contrast to the steeper, more crowded Hahnenkamm side of the resort.
The school offers group and private lessons for all ages and ability levels, from complete beginners taking their first snowplough turns through to advanced skiers refining carving technique and off-piste skills. Their instructor team includes former competitive racers, and the Kitzbühel Race Academy programme gives ambitious intermediates and advanced skiers access to slalom and giant slalom training on proper race courses. Kids' programmes with age-appropriate games and progression structures round out the offering.
What distinguishes Skischule Horn 2000 from the larger ski school operations in Kitzbühel is the sunny-side positioning. The Kitzbüheler Horn faces south, meaning more sunshine hours, warmer temperatures, and better snow conditions on mild winter days — a genuine advantage for families with young children and beginners who feel the cold more acutely. The Alpenhaus base also provides sheltered meeting areas and easy gondola access, keeping the logistics of lesson pickup and drop-off simple and stress-free.
