About Jamie's Whaling Station
Jamie's Whaling Station is Tofino's largest and longest-running marine wildlife tour operator, welcoming visitors to the waters of Clayoquot Sound since 1982. With over four decades of experience and the biggest fleet on the west coast of Vancouver Island, they've become the go-to name for whale watching, bear watching, and hot springs excursions in the region.
Tours depart daily from their Campbell Street dock aboard a mix of open Zodiac boats and large covered cruiser vessels, catering to different comfort levels and group sizes. Whale watching runs from March through October, targeting grey whales, humpbacks, and orcas, while bear watching tours visit the remote inlets of Clayoquot Sound where black bears forage along the shoreline. Their hot springs day trips travel to the natural geothermal pools at Hot Springs Cove in Maquinna Provincial Park.
Jamie's reputation is built on experienced captains, certified marine naturalist guides, and a sighting guarantee that offers a complimentary return trip if no whales are spotted. They also operate a second location in nearby Ucluelet, making them the only operator covering both gateway towns to Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.
