About Ziptrek Ecotours
Ziptrek Ecotours is Whistler's original zipline operator, running a network of aerial courses that span the old-growth forest between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Based right in Whistler Village at the Carleton Lodge, Ziptrek has been guiding guests through the temperate rainforest canopy since 2002, combining high-adrenaline ziplining with an award-winning ecological curriculum. Their central village location means no shuttle is needed — guests walk from their hotel to the departure point in minutes.
The company offers four distinct zipline tours ranging from introductory to extreme. The Bear Tour features four ziplines connected by suspension bridges and boardwalks through 1,000-year-old Douglas firs. The Eagle Tour adds a 2,400-foot line with a 30-storey descent between the two mountains. For thrill-seekers, the Sasquatch spans over two kilometres — making it one of the longest ziplines in North America — with speeds exceeding 100 km/h. There is also the TreeTrek canopy walk for visitors who prefer a gentler aerial experience through the treetops.
Ziptrek stands apart through its deep commitment to environmental education. Every tour weaves rainforest ecology, watershed science, and sustainability messaging into the adventure, and the company holds certifications from the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). Guides are trained naturalists as much as adventure leaders, making Ziptrek a favourite for families and school groups as well as adrenaline junkies. With millions of guests flown and a near-perfect safety record, it remains the gold standard for zipline experiences in British Columbia.
