About Scenic World
Scenic World is the Blue Mountains' most iconic visitor attraction, welcoming guests to the edge of the Jamison Valley in Katoomba since 1945. Family-owned and operated for nearly eight decades, the park sits at the corner of Violet Street and Cliff Drive, overlooking the Three Sisters and the vast eucalypt canopy of the World Heritage-listed national park.
The park is home to four signature experiences: the Scenic Railway — the world's steepest passenger train descending 310 metres at a 52-degree incline — the Scenic Skyway glass-floor cable car crossing the valley at 270 metres, the Scenic Cableway rising from the rainforest floor to the clifftop, and the 2.4-kilometre Scenic Walkway boardwalk through ancient Jurassic-era rainforest. Seasonal attractions like Dinosaur Valley and Indigenous cultural Buunyal tours add further variety.
For thrill-seekers, the Beyond Skyway experience lets visitors climb onto the roof of the Skyway cabin via harness for a 360-degree sunset panorama high above the valley. With rides running throughout the day, an on-site café, and easy access from Katoomba Station, Scenic World is the starting point for most Blue Mountains adventures.
