About Powder Extreme
Powder Extreme is Verbier's specialist off-piste ski and snowboard school, based on Rue de Médran just steps from the main lift station. Unlike traditional ski schools focused on groomed runs, Powder Extreme is built entirely around freeride coaching, powder skiing, backcountry touring, and mountain safety — catering to intermediate-to-advanced skiers and snowboarders who want to push beyond the marked pistes.
Their programme includes daily off-piste guiding sessions, multi-day Powder Camps (typically 5 days of intensive freeride coaching), backcountry ski touring excursions into the remote valleys surrounding Verbier, heli-ski trip planning, and dedicated Mountain Safety Camps covering avalanche awareness, rescue techniques, and route-finding. All coaches hold the Swiss Brevet Fédéral qualification — the highest ski instructor certification in Switzerland — and bring a minimum of 10 years' guiding experience in the 4 Vallées.
What sets Powder Extreme apart from Verbier's numerous ski schools is their singular focus on off-piste performance. They don't teach beginners or run children's programmes — every resource goes into helping competent skiers and riders become confident, safe freeriders. Their small group sizes (typically 4-6 per guide) and intimate knowledge of Verbier's vast off-piste terrain make them the go-to choice for serious powder enthusiasts.
