About Miami Kiteboarding
Miami Kiteboarding is South Florida's premier kiteboarding and wing foiling school, operating from Crandon Park on Key Biscayne — one of the most consistent wind corridors on the Eastern Seaboard. The school was founded by professional kiteboarders who recognised that the shallow, warm waters of Biscayne Bay combined with reliable trade winds create ideal conditions for learning to kite safely. Their teaching site at the Crandon Park sandbar offers waist-deep water extending hundreds of metres offshore, eliminating the deep-water anxiety that makes learning at other locations intimidating.
Lesson packages include introductory kite-flying ground sessions, IKO-certified beginner kiteboarding courses that typically take three sessions to get students riding independently, intermediate coaching for transitions, jumps, and wave riding, and the newest addition — wing foiling lessons on hydrofoil boards. All equipment is provided: kites from 7m to 14m matched to wind conditions, twin-tip and directional boards, harnesses, helmets, impact vests, and wetsuits for cooler months. Group lessons are capped at two students per instructor, and private lessons offer one-on-one attention.
Miami Kiteboarding's edge is their location and instructor quality. The Crandon Park sandbar is genuinely one of the best learning spots in the world — flat water, consistent side-onshore wind, and no boat traffic. The instructors hold IKO Level 3 certifications and compete nationally, bringing technical depth that weekend-warrior coaches at beach resorts cannot match. For anyone visiting Miami who wants to learn kiteboarding or wing foiling, this is the school the local kite community recommends.
