About MANTA Scuba Diving
MANTA Scuba Diving is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort — the highest certification level in the PADI system — operating from the Plaza Gali marina complex in downtown Cabo San Lucas. With over 23 years of continuous operation, MANTA has become the most established dive operator in the area, known for maintaining rigorous safety standards while providing access to some of the most spectacular dive sites in the Sea of Cortez. Their purpose-built facility includes an on-site training pool, dual air compressors, and four custom dive boats designed for the local sea conditions.
Dive trips cover the full range of sites accessible from Cabo: the famous sand falls at the submarine canyon (featured in Jacques Cousteau's documentaries), the sea lion colony at Los Islotes, the vibrant reef systems along the Corridor, the remote Gordo Banks seamount for pelagic encounters, and multi-day expeditions to the Cabo Pulmo marine reserve — one of the most successful marine protected areas in the world. PADI courses are offered from Discover Scuba for first-timers through to Divemaster certification, and Nitrox diving is available for certified divers who want extended bottom time.
Beyond diving excellence, MANTA is deeply embedded in the local community. The shop has supplied free compressed air to the Cabo San Lucas fire department for over nine years and organises regular beach and underwater clean-up events. Their team of instructors and divemasters brings decades of combined experience in these waters, and many returning guests book with MANTA specifically because of the crew's encyclopaedic knowledge of local marine life. For certified divers and beginners alike, MANTA represents the gold standard for scuba in Cabo San Lucas.
