About Brian's Windsurfing
Brian's Windsurfing is the original kiteboarding and windsurfing lesson centre in Hood River, operating from their waterfront location at 110 Portway Avenue on the Columbia River. For years, they have been introducing newcomers to the wind-powered sports that made Hood River famous, while also serving experienced riders with equipment rentals and advanced coaching.
Their lesson programme covers kiteboarding, windsurfing, and stand-up paddleboarding, with options ranging from introductory sessions for complete beginners to progression clinics for intermediate riders looking to dial in their technique. Equipment rentals include kites, boards, harnesses, wetsuits, and SUPs — all maintained to a high standard and sized appropriately for conditions on the Gorge. Lessons take place directly on the Columbia River at the Hood River Event Site, one of the premier launch spots in the Pacific Northwest.
