About Blue Dirt Mountain Biking
Blue Dirt Mountain Biking is the official shuttle and bike hire operator at Falls Creek Alpine Resort, running their Village Bike Cafe from the Slalom Car Park at the village entrance. Originally born on Victoria's Surf Coast in Torquay, Blue Dirt expanded into the High Country to service Falls Creek's rapidly growing mountain bike park — a 50-kilometre network of purpose-built gravity and cross-country trails designed by World Trail that has put Falls Creek on the map as a serious summer MTB destination.
The Village Bike Cafe serves as a one-stop shop for everything mountain biking at Falls Creek: premium Rocky Mountain dual-suspension hire bikes, shuttle services to the top of the trail network, spare parts, riding apparel, and — critically — excellent coffee and food to refuel after a morning of alpine descending. Shuttles run Thursday through Monday during the summer season, and bike hire includes helmets and basic trail maps. They stock bikes for all ages and abilities, from kids' hardtails to full-carbon enduro rigs for experienced riders tackling the park's black-diamond lines.
What sets Blue Dirt apart is their deep integration with the Falls Creek MTB community. They also operate at Mt Buller and Omeo, giving them unmatched knowledge of Victoria's alpine trail networks. The cafe atmosphere at the Village Bike Cafe creates a natural gathering point for riders to swap trail intel, compare Strava segments, and plan the next lap. For anyone visiting Falls Creek in summer with mountain biking on the agenda, Blue Dirt is the essential first stop for gear, shuttles, and local beta.
