About Taos Fly Shop
The Taos Fly Shop is a cornerstone of the northern New Mexico fly fishing community, operated by Nick Streit and carrying on a family tradition established by his father Taylor Streit, a Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame "Legendary Guide" who has been guiding anglers on New Mexico waters for over 30 years. Located on Paseo Del Pueblo Sur in the heart of Taos, the shop serves as both a fully stocked fly shop and the base for their professional guide service.
The shop carries a comprehensive selection of fly rods, reels, lines, leaders, and hand-tied flies specifically chosen for northern New Mexico waters, including the Rio Grande, Red River, Rio Hondo, and the numerous high-country streams in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Their guide service offers half-day and full-day trips with experienced guides hand-picked and trained by Taylor on fishing NM waters, covering everything from wade fishing on mountain creeks to float trips on larger rivers. All equipment is provided on guided trips.
