About Swiss Ski School Crans-Montana
The Ecole Suisse de Ski et de Snowboard de Crans-Montana, known internationally as ESS Crans-Montana, is one of the most historic ski schools in the Swiss Alps with over a century of continuous operation. Based on Route des Arolles in the centre of the resort, the school is part of the official Swiss Ski School network and employs a large team of certified instructors who teach in six languages including French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
ESS Crans-Montana is particularly renowned for its children's programmes, with dedicated clubs segmented by age: the BIBI Club for three and four year olds, the SNOWLI Club for ages four to six, the MINI Club for seven to eleven, and the Riders Club for teenagers aged twelve to fifteen. Group sizes are capped at five children to ensure quality instruction. For adults, both private and group lessons cover alpine skiing, snowboarding, carving, freestyle, and freeride. The school also operates a Bureau des Guides offering glacier walks, off-piste guiding, ski touring, snowshoeing, avalanche safety training, and heli-skiing.
Beyond the winter season, ESS transforms into a multi-sport academy running mountain bike instruction across trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, and e-bike disciplines, plus children's sports camps and an adventure park. The school also offers adaptive skiing programmes including Dualski and Uniski for guests with disabilities, corporate group packages, and course protection insurance — reflecting a comprehensive and inclusive approach to mountain sports education that few competitors can match.
