About Silversonic
Silversonic is a premium dive and snorkel day cruise operated by the Quicksilver Group, departing daily from Port Douglas Marina to the outer Agincourt Ribbon Reefs on the Great Barrier Reef. The custom-designed 29-metre catamaran is one of the most sophisticated reef vessels in North Queensland, featuring state-of-the-art ride control systems, air-conditioned lounges, a licensed bar, hot freshwater showers, and a submerged boarding platform for easy water access.
Each day, Silversonic visits three different reef sites selected from over 35 exclusive Agincourt Ribbon Reef locations, chosen by the crew for optimal visibility and ecological diversity on the day. Guests enjoy up to five hours of reef time with options for guided snorkel tours, introductory diving for beginners, and up to three certified dives including drift dives, wall dives, and swim-throughs. All snorkelling and diving equipment is included, with underwater cameras and lycra suits available for hire.
What distinguishes Silversonic from other Port Douglas reef operators is the quality of the outer ribbon reef sites — Agincourt Reef is among the most pristine sections of the Great Barrier Reef, with exceptional coral coverage and regular encounters with manta rays, reef sharks, and sea turtles. The vessel underwent a major $1.66 million refit in late 2025 with next-generation Rolls-Royce engines compatible with sustainable marine fuels, reinforcing Quicksilver's commitment to reef conservation.
