About Hakuba47 Ski Academy International
Hakuba47 Ski Academy International is a multilingual ski and snowboard school based at the Hakuba47 Winter Sports Park in the Hakuba Valley. Their School Centre sits in the base area directly in front of the bus stops, offering convenient access for visitors arriving from accommodation across the valley. Lessons are delivered by a team of internationally certified Japanese and foreign instructors in English, Chinese, French, and other languages, making the academy a natural fit for the growing number of international visitors drawn to Hakuba's legendary powder snow.
The academy is the only ski school in the Hakuba Valley authorised to conduct internationally recognised badge tests conforming to International Ski Instructors Association standards, with progressive levels from Green through Gold. Instruction is available across six Hakuba resorts — Hakuba47, Goryu, Happo-one, Tsugaike, Iwatake, and Cortina — covering everything from never-ever beginners to advanced off-piste skiing. Specialised programs include tree riding in the deep powder zones that have made Hakuba famous, and snow park lessons covering jumps, half pipe, rails, and boxes.
Both private and group lesson formats are offered for students aged four and older, with younger children assessed on a case-by-case basis. The school's instructors hold certifications from international governing bodies, ensuring coaching standards that meet or exceed what guests expect from resorts in Europe, North America, and Australasia. For visitors seeking structured progression with internationally recognised credentials in one of Japan's premier powder destinations, Hakuba47 Ski Academy delivers a standard of instruction that is hard to match elsewhere in the valley.
