About Glacier Raft Company
Glacier Raft Company is the original rafting outfitter in the Flathead Valley, having run guided whitewater and scenic float trips on the rivers surrounding Glacier National Park since 1976. Their primary routes cover the Middle and North forks of the Flathead River — pristine stretches that form the western and southern boundaries of Glacier National Park and are designated as part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. The Class II-III rapids offer enough excitement for thrill-seekers while remaining accessible to families with children as young as six.
Half-day trips are the most popular option, packing in about two hours of on-river time with stops for swimming, cliff-jumping, and wildlife spotting. Full-day adventures extend the experience with a riverside lunch, and the company's multi-day expeditions include overnight camping on the riverbank — a wilderness experience that few other outfitters in the region can match. All trips include professional guides, wetsuits or drysuits when needed, and shuttle transport between the base camp in West Glacier and the put-in/take-out points.
Beyond rafting, Glacier Raft Company offers inflatable kayak trips for paddlers who want a more hands-on experience, as well as scenic float trips designed for wildlife viewing and photography. Their riverside base camp in West Glacier includes a gear shop, hot showers, and a small café, making it a natural gathering point before and after trips. With nearly five decades of guiding on these rivers, the company combines deep institutional knowledge with a genuine passion for protecting the Glacier ecosystem.
