About Arlberger Bergbahnen
Arlberger Bergbahnen is the lift company that operates the cable cars and chairlifts on the St. Anton side of the Ski Arlberg region, Austria's largest interconnected ski area. From their headquarters at Kandaharweg 9, the company runs key installations including the landmark Galzigbahn — first opened in 1937 and spectacularly rebuilt in 2006 — the Vallugabahn to the 2,811-metre summit, the Rendlbahn, and the Nassereinbahn, among many others.
Together with partner companies across Lech-Zürs and Warth-Schröcken, Arlberger Bergbahnen provides access to 305 kilometres of groomed piste and 200 kilometres of marked freeride routes. In summer, the lifts transform into access points for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running across an extensive alpine network. The company also operates the ski pass system for the St. Anton sector, manages on-mountain facilities, and coordinates snowmaking and grooming operations to ensure consistent conditions throughout the season.
As the infrastructure backbone of one of Europe's most storied ski destinations, Arlberger Bergbahnen has continually invested in modernising its lift fleet while preserving the character that has drawn skiers to St. Anton since the birth of alpine skiing. Their summer operations have grown significantly in recent years, with the Galzigbahn and Vallugabahn running for hikers and sightseers from late June through early October.
